Edinburgh Pilgrimage Delights Again
Omni Car Park continues to have a place in our hearts. A tough project executed through COVID and completed towards end of 2022 has just had its annual clean and inspection of the 60,000m2 facility.
This happily coincides with now our annual pilgrimage to Edinburgh and more over Murrayfield and a chance to catch up with the site and management team which has become something of an annual pilgrimage.
“The Makers boys are great hosts and it’s always a great catch up! It falls nicely with the cleaning of the car park and allows us to take in a game and make good memories”.
M. Botha; Omni Centre Management
“The rugby provides an opportunity to take the site team and Makers staff away from work and enjoy the camaraderie which made it such a great project, “we always have great fun and come away looking forward to next year”.
Darren Wootton; Operations Director, Makers
Omni has been at the forefront of the SIRAS and SIRAS+ scheme being the first project to be awarded the Gold Award by Lloyds of London under their new Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance back at the end of 2024 and gave cause to celebrate on Makers most recent visit to the city.
Two years ago, the opposition was the same with Scotland entertaining Wales where Scotland ran out easy winners 35-7. This year although Wales have been well below par the thousands of Welsh fans in the ground had higher expectations at the 67,000-capacity venue.
Despite much Welsh bravado in many of the Edinburgh pubs it didn’t take long for Scotland to dominate and using their pace cruise easily into a 28-8 lead at half time. A good state of affairs for our Scottish friends but never count out the Welsh. Whatever was placed in the Tennents Super at half time energised the Welsh who scored 3 unanswered tries in the second half creating a thrilling climax but with Scotland running out eventual winners 35-29 in a much more closely contested game than the first half suggested.
“It’s always a pleasure to revisit Omni and the boys this year though we sadly missed John Price who was recovering from surgery and from everyone at Makers, we wish him a speedy recovery. Edinburgh provides a great opportunity to relax and celebrate together and we look forward to next year when England return!”.
Simon Lamb; Managing Director, Makers
