Outstanding Achievement Award

Peter Cowlard Technical Director for Makers was awarded the Kevin Coulman Memorial Shield in recognition of his services and dedication both to the Concrete Repair Association and the industry.

Voted by members of the CRA, Peter’s award was presented at the House of Commons by Chairman Jack Perry of EPMS and hosted by past chairman Tony Hansard of Weber Saint Goban.

In his presentation speech Tony Hansard reflected on Peter’s many achievements, working on the first concrete repair project in the country at the Royal Naval Docks, Devonport, being an active member in the UK Slip Resistance Group and Chairing the Specialist car park decking group within the The Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association.

Peter’s presence within the industry spans for some 34 years, 28 of those working for Makers. Described as the “Fountain of Knowledge” Peter has had many years of involvement with the CRA.

Peter is in esteem company, where this award has been presented to highly influencial figures within the industry.  Peter also received a surprise birthday gift from the staff of Makers to commemorate his 65th birthday, this was presented by Simon Lamb Managing Director of Makers.

In his acceptance speech Peter paid tribute to Kevin Coulman whom he had known personally and thanked those many people he had met over his time in the industry.  He was shocked and deeply honoured to receive the award before being rescued by Audrey his wife who was in attendance.
