Fosroc Golf Day at The Belfry

Home of the Ryder Cup the Belfry has a special place in every European golfers’ heart and this iconic venue played host to Structural Repair Specialists from around the UK.

The Belfry has the distinction of having 3 very good courses and Fosroc managed to secure its day on the renowned PGA National, a venue that has held many PGA senior tour events. The recent dry weather gave the course a more “linksy” feel with traditional green grass looking more like straw and anything off the fairway punished heavily.

After 18 holes in the baking heat, competitors returned to Sam’s Bar for a presentation by Tim Mole and Matt Bromley of Fosroc followed by dinning and team prize giving.

Fosroc had even arranged one of the top World Cup Matches to coincide with their event which saw Brazil one of the tournaments favourites take on Belgium, with Belgium eventually running out match winners 2:1.

“I would just like to thank the guys at Fosroc for their time, effort and generosity in organising the event. It’s a rarity that I get to play due to work commitments but it was great to catch up with some old familiar faces… p.s. Matt you still owe me a fiver…”

Despite some very tough conditions the team scores were close and Nigel Croad took the individual prize with 39 points.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the guys I played with especially the 2 boys from Dublin, although I had early success with 21 points front 9 I think the decision to walk the course took its toll on the back 9 with a meagre 14 points, perhaps the buggy would have “stopped me flagging but congratulations to all the winners”
