Makers Apprentices graduate to Birmingham City University

Chris ConwayChris Conway, Associate Professor and Head of the Centre for Built Environment at Birmingham City University pays a visit to Makers Construction to explain the changes and developments the RICS has brought to the apprentice programme.

CertificatesFollowing on from their excellent results gained in the BTEC level 4 HNC Diplomas in Construction and the Built Environment Joe Marler and Joshua Lake took time out to visit Birmingham City University and examine the facilities on offer along with HSQE manager Sean Allsop.

“Learning in a University environment is different from that at college, we have had excellent support from Walsall College and wish that to continue with BCU. We are all very excited to see how the changes and structure implemented by the RICS will benefit our apprentices”

The 3-year programme will see the boys’ study part-time and continue to work for Makers Construction. The drive to provide industry with suitability qualified professionals is at the core of the syllabus.

Chris Conway highlighted the need to take full advantage of the facilities that BCU has to offer and complete student studies to the highest level.
