Makers Witnesses Ashes Victory At Edgbaston

Picture 2Despite the usual panic of no cricket at Edgbaston due to rain, this Ashes Series took on a different look with the possibility of Australia being bowled out before any play on Friday.

Picture 1Having nervously waited to see if England took the extra 30 minutes on Thursday, Australia stood at 168 for 7 leading by 23 runs.

The expectant crowd and attendees were all supporting Australia to make a total that would allow England to run, chase and obtain victory in the same day.  A completely selfish crowd sported on the Aussies to provide a lead of 120 some 30 runs short of producing an exciting outcome.Picture 4

On a wicket that had seen 3 innings complete in 3 days the carnival crowd more akin to a football match taunted the Aussies with every ball.

The weather played it’s part to allow England a comfortable victory with much celebration and the chants of 2 – 1 to the mighty England.

Next call Trent Bridge, a pivotal test!

“Edgbaston has often jinxed us and it nearly did again.  Thanks to the Aussies for putting up a great tail end defence, it made it a great day for everyone, except of course if you were an Aussie fan!”
