Makers makes LRWA Finals Shortlist!

Now in its second year the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association is holding its Gala Awards event on the 7th November 2018 at the Titanic Hotel at the historic Stanley Docks in Liverpool.

The great and the good of the industry will gather to recognise quality, professional workmanship dedicated to one of the fastest growing sectors of the roofing industry.

Makers have been successful in being shortlisted in 2 categories out of the 7 available. Intu Merry Hill Shopping Centre for projects over 1000m2 and Intu Victoria Shopping Centre for Liquid Waterproofing Project of the Year.

Intu Merry Hill was carried out using the Sika LPL Decothane Ultra System to 11 roofs that were in poor condition. Despite the horrendous weather the contract was completed to a very high standard in difficult conditions under the guidance of Rod Mundon of Makers and the technical support from Sika LPL.

The project at Intu Victoria had significant issues including chloride contamination which meant the structure had to be treated prior to the application of the Triflex coatings. This popular site meant that strict co-ordination with the retail business was critical for a successful completion which saw the car park returned into action 4 week before the contracted date.
