Makers Deliver at Royal Mail Bristol
What can only be described as challenging conditions; the metal sheet roof at Royal Mail Filton is now watertight and the Mail Centre enjoying the benefits of a waterproof roof.
The exposed 20,000m2 roof has experienced unprecedented rainfall over the past 6 months along with the rest of the country but Makers and Royal Mail are delighted the roof has been completed using Alumasc’s METcoat System.
The Filton Centre processes 30,000 items per hour so any areas disturbed by water ingress has a significant input of the operation and efficiency of the centre.
The complete project also included the removal and retreatment of existing gutters providing the structure with a 20-year water proofing warranty.
“Due to its scale it’s been an incredibly challenging project due to the weather but we have continued to battle through the conditions and deliver the project back to Royal Mail”.
William McCrimmon, Regional Director
Filton Mail Centre operates 24/7 and any disruption has a knock-on effect. I would like to congratulate my team on delivering a first-class project under difficult conditions and remaining positive throughout”
