Makers hit the Turf

Makers as Guest to UttoxeterUttoxeter Racecourse home of the Midlands Grand National provided an afternoon of exciting hunt racing.  Makers attended as invited guests to celebrate the successful completion of several combined projects which was the first opportunity to gather after the pandemic.

The Lofty Box above the finish line provided advantageous views of the paddock ring and start and finish lines, and with a cord of 7 good races both top trainers and jockeys were on display.

paddocksDespite some early promise and sizeable wins amongst the attendees the 14:45 Selling Hurdles provided additional excitement with Rock on Tommy which was heavily backed by our consortium winning in a time of ‘4 minutes over the 1m & 7-furlong course.

Unfortunately, we were unable to accumulate the £5,000 needed to purchase the 7-year-old at auction so we won’t be heading over towards the owners’ enclosures any time soon.

EnclosureMakers would like to thank Uttoxeter and our sponsors for a fantastic day and excellent hospitality and look forward to returning again soon to test our racing knowledge once again.
